Having graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in Mumbai, I have been very fortunate to train and work in some of the finest hotels in the world famous Taj Group.
This experience culminated in the opportunity to start a restaurant called 'Karavalli’ in the Taj Gateway Hotel in Bangalore, serving authentic food from the west coast of India, which also included food from Goa.
Once ‘Karavalli’ was set up and successful I chose to work abroad, after securing a job to work as part of a team of chefs that opened the much acclaimed Indian food restaurant ‘La Porte des Indes’ in London. After 8 years as a sous chef I felt that it was time to start my own business.
Bernie’s Goan Kitchen was created in 2005 and is a registered catering business serving home cooked food.
